It is expected that the installed power generation capacity of the national infrastructure will be increased by about 180 million kW in 2021, of which about 140 million kW of non-fossil energy power generation will be put into operation.

The forecast report expects that in 2021, the overall balance of power supply and demand in the country will be tight or even tense during peak hours in local areas. By region, there is a surplus of power supply in northeast and northwest China. East China power supply and demand balance; Power supply is tight in North China. In 2020, the whole society's electricity consumption is 7.51 trillion kWh, an increase of 3.1% year-on-year, and the average annual growth rate of the whole society's electricity consumption in the "13th Five-Year Plan" period is 5.7%, and the steady recovery of economic operation is the main reason for the recovery of electricity consumption growth.
